Reem Yassouf, born in Damascus in 1979, is an artist and a Jewelry designer. She obtained her Bachelor’s degree in Art from the University of Damascus in 2000. Zara Gallery is proud to showcase four pieces of her creative work in a collective art exhibition this March.
Reem, a young talent and an emerging artist has already participated in many exhibits throughout Syria. She believes that her work represents the human condition and the relationship it has with its surrounding environment. Reem’s creativity stems from her ability to build a relationship between the materials (inks, charcoal, oils, or even wood), she uses when creating her work.
Reem started to design jewelry in the year 2000. Finding a passion in this field, she specialized in the design of precious stones and diamonds in Syria, Turkey and the United Arab Emirates. There was much to be learned from the experience of working with regional and international jewelry design firms, she explained.
Zara Gallery inquired from Reem about what inspires her creativity: “My Muse,” she said “is to create a playful ground where the materials I am using can come together and build a piece of work that everyone can enjoy.”
