Born in Jordan in 1955. Khaled obtained his Ph. D of Fine Arts from Barcelona University in Spain in 1993. He started his career at the Fine Arts Institute in Amman in 1983 and later became in charge of Cultural Affairs in Abdel Hameed Shoman Foundation, and for Plastic Art at the Ministry of Culture, Amman, Jordan in 1993. In 1996, he taught Fine Arts at the Faculty of Architecture & Arts at the University of Petra, Amman, Jordan. Khaled was re-elected as the President of Jordanian Plastic Artist Association in 1997.

Khaled Khreis was awarded a scholarship from the Institute of Cooperation with the Arab World in Madrid, Spain in 1989 and another scholarship from Jordanian Ministry of Education in 1974. He also won the National Award for excellence in Art, Ministry of Culture in 1995 and won 1st prize for the Joan Miro International Contest at the Spanish Arab Institute in Madrid, Spain in 1985 as well as the Miro & Picasso Homepage Contest in Jordan in 1984.
Khaled currently holds the position of Director General of the Jordan National Gallery of Fine Arts.
